In a bizarre partnership that breaks usual expectations, Ubisoft has announced an digital partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, including complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Questline Revealed
According to the official release, "An unusual encounter draws protagonists Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where rumors of prohibited rituals and fearsome changes echo through the obscurity." The storyline features a "unusually garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a secret cult.
The questline focuses on "peculiar experiments and a monstrous adversary" and is accessible to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Settings and Transformations
The preview highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The teaser finishes with a striking scene showing a character, probably the prisoner, changing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
